Our four-day, three night trip is relaxing, interesting, and varied with activities
for everybody, from kayak paddling, great snorkeling, to fun hiking in native jungles.
Let’s not forget seeing the red hot lava up close!
Fun family kayaking and snorkeling with tropical fish in bays and beaches on the sunny
leeward side of the island of Hawaii south of Kailua-Kona and to the cool country uplands
of Volcanoes Park or waterfall valleys.
For two days we kayak and snorkel in stable, sit-on-top kayaks in the crystal clear,
warm waters of Kealakekua bay and other beautiful bays. We often see spinner dolphins
jumping in the bay. At night we stay at a nearby B and B where your guide will grill you
fresh local fish and other island specialties over the coals while you enjoy the jacuzzi.
Visit Hawaii’s Hawaiian cultural national park Pu`uhonua O Honaunau National Park to
see how the Hawaiian chiefs lived, the thousand foot long rock wall, the priest’s temple
of forgiveness and the turtles on the beach.
Then on the third and fourth days we are in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park where we
stay in a lovely B and B for our hikes in the jungle rain forest.
Here we explore the upland jungle hiking trails of Volcanoes Park with many native birds
and plants. We cook our lunch over the steam vents on the crater floor and walk through Thurston
Lava Tube. At night we head down to view the active flowing red-hot
lava surging into the sea where the surf pounds on the newly formed black sand beaches.
