Day Kayaking Paddling Tours:
HO`OKENA BEACH DAY PADDLE AND SNORKEL
TRIP.
This day kayak trip is located at Ho`okena County Beach Park, a beautiful
village in accessible but remote South Kona. This trip is for the slightly
more adventurous and fit group, because the total distance is almost
six miles. We paddle by or into two interesting sea caves. We can easily
customize a shorter trip with a shorter paddling distance and longer
snorkeling from the shore.
We paddle leisurely from our sandy beach after a brief kayaking lesson
under the palm trees to the south end of Pu`uhonua O Honaunau National
Park. Here we enter a large sea cave, have a full lunch under the shade
trees, and walk a little ways on the newest national park trail: the
Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail. Snorkeling is great with many colorful
fish in warm, turquoise blue water. The water here is so clear, safe,
and buoyant!
PRICE: $91.25 per person,
with tax = $95.00, includes snack and full picnic lunch. Four person
minimum. Family, corporate, and special interest groups welcome! Children
3-12 half price; 13 and over full price. LENGTH: Five to six hours,
depending on length.

Captivating beauty of dolphins at play.

These trips go to bays and beaches on the sunny leeward side of the island of Hawaii south of Kailua-Kona and to the cool country uplands of Volcanoes Park or waterfall valleys.

Here we explore the upland jungle hiking trails of Volcanoes Park with many native birds and plants. We cook our lunch over the steam vents on the crater floor and walk through Thurston Lava Tube.
